Report for work?

If you can come in, please call ahead (on the cell phones).

We are going to have everyone show up at 8:30 AM on Monday the 15th.

La Porte has a curfew from 8PM to 8 AM, so you won't be able to get in until then.

Should you come back?

Most everyone that I have talked to does not have power. There are a few people that do have power, but they are the rare ones. Most all of the gas stations can't pump gas (no power).

Also, most of the grocery stores are closed for the same reason.

Of course, this is mostly the La Porte area, so if you live somewhere else, then you may find something different.

If you are going to come back be prepared by bringing food, gas, and supplies.

Some areas are closed or have curfews so be mindful of that.

Shop condition

Well, the old office part of the shop is in pretty bad shape. The good news is that all the equipment, trucks, etc. are ok. The warehouses, Carter's shop, and the rest of the buildings are ok.

The only flooding that we had was because the roof came off and exposed the holes from the air vents...

We are currently cleaning the water out of the offices and relocating all the computers as best we can.

I Don't Like Ike...

The National Hurricane Center hurricane track has made a big move. It is currently forcast to run ashore near San Luis Pass as a Cat. 4 storm.

This is bad news.

Please come in to work so we can get things ready for the storm. We should be able to get everything done in a couple hours. Call me if you have any questions. I'll be getting up around 4 AM.
Thanks,
Charlie
